Volmex Labs CEO Predicts Bitcoin Could Reach $500,000 by 2028
Cole Kennelly, CEO of Volmex Labs, has made a bold prediction that Bitcoin could reach $500,000 by 2028. This would require a gain of approximately 493% to 540% from its current level near $84,269.
Kennelly's forecast is a personal view and not an output of his firm's analytical framework. Volmex Labs builds indices that track expected volatility in crypto markets, including the Bitcoin Volmex Implied Volatility Index (BVIV), which measures anticipated price swings over a roughly 30-day horizon.
The $500,000 target has been floated by several prominent voices before, but none have come close to achieving it. Standard Chartered once projected that Bitcoin would reach this level by the end of 2028, but later pushed its target back to 2030 and trimmed nearer-term projections.
For Kennelly's forecast to materialize, institutional demand, macroeconomic conditions, and regulatory developments would need to align. This includes corporate buying, interest rates, liquidity, and regulatory clarity in the US.
