Wall Street Chases Crypto's 24/7 Trading Model
The traditional financial sector is catching up to the cryptocurrency industry's always-on trading model.
Nasdaq has extended its U.S. equity trading hours from April, allowing for a 23-hour trading session, five days a week. The new rules will come into force on December 6th and include an extended session from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. ET.
The SEC has pointed out the challenges of building infrastructure capable of supporting continuous trading while maintaining liquidity, efficient settlement, and effective market oversight.
