Wall Street's Trillion-Dollar Pipeline Fuels Crypto Adoption
Michael Saylor emphasizes the importance of 'bringing Bitcoin to billions,' while Bitwise's Matt Hougan predicts that the next big wave of adoption will come from Wall Street, not social media.
Hougan points out that four major U.S. wealth-management platforms, Morgan Stanley, Wells Fargo, UBS, and Merrill Lynch, control a combined $20 trillion in assets and could see significant inflows with small allocations to crypto.
These platforms are beginning to add Bitcoin and Ethereum to their model portfolios, which are used by thousands of financial advisors. Morgan Stanley launched its own Bitcoin ETF earlier this year, while Bank of America's Merrill Lynch allows advisors to recommend 1% to 4% crypto allocations.
