Wallet Apps Don't Store Crypto: How Blockchain Addresses Work
The relationship between cryptocurrency wallets and blockchain addresses is often misunderstood. A wallet app does not store cryptocurrency, but rather provides an interface for interacting with the blockchain.
This distinction means that someone can send cryptocurrency to a valid blockchain address without needing the recipient's wallet app installed.
A public blockchain address can be shared with others, and if it is controlled by the recipient, they may still receive the funds even if their wallet app is deleted or not currently open.
