Wallets Rise as Centralized Exchanges See Trading Volume Decline

Centralized exchanges (CEX) have seen a significant decline in trading volume, dropping almost 24% in July to a 32-month low. This has led to decentralized exchanges (DEXs) capturing a record 19% share of spot trading volume.

Crypto wallets are now being considered as the next super apps, with Changelly hosting a live panel discussion on September 17. The discussion will focus on what it takes for wallets to keep large transactions within the wallet instead of losing users to centralized exchanges.

The panel will discuss three main aspects: architecture, trust, and execution. NEXOS Workspace will take on the challenge of designing a wallet that can support large swaps without sending users elsewhere. Quantum River will address the issue of trust, explaining what makes someone comfortable putting a $1 million transaction through a wallet. Changelly will focus on execution, ensuring that the swap is fast and cost-competitive without leaving the wallet.
