Warren Demands Investigation into Trump-Linked Crypto Firm
Senator Elizabeth Warren has written to Secretary of Treasury Scott Bessent and Attorney General Todd Blance, asking them to investigate World Liberty Financial (WLF), a crypto firm tied to the Trump family.
The $WLFI token, launched by Trump in September 2024, has a market cap of around $1.8 billion. Warren expressed concerns about national security risks posed by WLF and its affiliated entities, citing 'troubling public reports' about connections to illicit finance.
Warren pointed out that the firm's token sales and equity stakes netted Trump approximately $500 billion in 2025, part of a massive windfall from crypto deals. She also mentioned concerns raised by observers regarding conflicts of interest and negative consequences for crypto market sentiment.
