Wealth Surge in US Widens Gap Between Haves and Have-Nots
Research from The Kobeissi Letter reveals that U.S. household net worth has surged by $84 trillion since 2020, reaching approximately $185 trillion today.
The wealth increase is largely concentrated among the top 1% of households, who now control over $60 trillion in net worth and have seen their wealth expand by more than $30 trillion alone since 2020.
Meanwhile, the bottom 50% of households collectively hold only about $4.3 trillion, with a significant disparity in asset ownership contributing to this divide.
The top 0.1% hold close to 60% of their assets in stocks and mutual funds, compared to around 38% for the next 9.9%, and just 4% for the bottom 50%.
Bitcoin has emerged as a potential beneficiary of these trends due to its fixed supply, which cannot be expanded in response to government spending or monetary policy. Its scarcity is similar to that of gold and other assets with limited supply.
