Wealthy Investors Overwhelmingly Own Crypto, But Few Integrate It
A recent survey by Nexo found that affluent investors are more likely to own cryptocurrency than to integrate it into their long-term finances. The Future of Digital Wealth 2026 survey polled 1,000 affluent investors across the US, UK, and Argentina and found that 66.7% hold cryptocurrency.
The survey's Crypto Integration Index (CII) measures how deeply crypto is integrated into an investor's portfolio. Only 4.7% of respondents scored a 7 or higher on the CII, indicating they have made digital assets a structural part of their long-term finances.
Nearly one in five respondents expects cryptocurrency to become their top wealth driver over the next decade. However, retirement decisions and asset substitution are key factors in determining how deeply crypto is integrated into an investor's portfolio, not risk perception.
