WEMIX Halted After $724K Breach Amid Stabilitycoin Transition
WEMIX, a blockchain gaming platform developed by South Korean publisher Wemade, has halted its bridges and decentralized exchange trading after an attacker drained approximately $724,000 in USDC.e tokens through a linked contract exploit.
The incident occurred while the platform was transitioning from its native WEMIX$ stablecoin to USDC.e on its WEMIX3.0 network, which began around March to April 2026. This transition involved significant liquidity adjustments, potentially introducing new attack surfaces.
WEMIX had previously suffered a larger breach in February 2025, when attackers compromised the Play Bridge Vault and made off with over 8.65 million WEMIX tokens valued at approximately $6.2 million.
