WEMIX, a blockchain gaming platform, suffered a major security breach on July 26, 2026. An attacker gained control of the WEMIX contract and issued about 5.23 million tokens without authorization, resulting in a $6.25 million loss.

The attacker quickly converted the stolen tokens into ETH (Ethereum) and USDT, moved funds across multiple wallets, and sent some to centralized exchanges.

In response, WEMIX suspended bridges, halted liquidity pools and trading, and blocked related services to contain the damage. Investigations and cooperation with exchanges to freeze assets are ongoing.
