Whale Accumulation Fuels Bitcoin Surge Past $85K as PCE Inflation Cools
Bitcoin's price surged past $85,000 as US PCE inflation data showed signs of cooling off. This move has been fueled by whale entities that have accumulated over 41,000 BTC in just the last ten days.
The whales' combined holdings now stand at 13.64 million BTC, accounting for approximately 67.93% of the total supply. Historically, periods of accumulation tend to precede market uptrends.
US spot Bitcoin ETFs have also shown a strong recovery, recording $2.4 billion in net inflows through September 25, their largest weekly intake since October 2025.
Analysts at 10x Research note that Bitcoin tends to move sharply when catalysts emerge, and October has historically been a month rich in such events.
