A whale investor has made an $85 million bet on Bitcoin, buying 1,075.6 BTC over four days at an average price of $79,412 per coin.

The wallet in question had previously sold 50,600 ETH for around $147.8 million near the top in late 2025, booking a realized profit of about $19.02 million.

This sale was notable because it didn't redeploy into another altcoin or chase the August rally. Instead, the wallet sat in stablecoins for eight months before starting to spend again.

The whale used Thorchain's cross-chain protocol to move value between networks without touching a centralized exchange, paying around $170,000 in swap fees.
