A previously successful whale investor has suffered a significant loss after Zcash's (ZEC) price surge. The anonymous whale had earned over $9 million from 47 trades, achieving an impressive 89% success rate and winning 26 consecutive trades. However, the recent rally in ZEC has erased these profits, leaving the account with a net loss of approximately $1.57 million.

According to data from Lookonchain, the whale was forced to close their short position on September 19 after ZEC's price rose. This closure resulted in a substantial loss of $10.68 million, wiping out the account's past profits and turning the overall picture into a net loss. The initial short position of 12,285 ZEC, valued at approximately $18.31 million, was still open with a loss of $7.66 million at that time.

The transaction screen displayed a net PnL value of minus $10,681,768.08 for the completed ZEC short trade after it was closed. This significant loss highlights the risks involved in investing in cryptocurrencies and the importance of managing positions effectively.
