Whale Short Sinks Bitcoin Price as Institutional Selling Accelerates Ahead of Clarity Act Vote
A major hurdle for Bitcoin's price recovery is a massive $54 million whale short position opened just hours before the Clarity Act vote. This comes amidst increased institutional selling and miner migration towards AI. The whale, with a reported 77% win rate and over $1 million in profits, has taken a bearish stance on BTC.
Bitcoin ETFs have seen a mixed picture, with daily inflows of $147.42 million, but negative weekly outflows of $336.16 million. Ethereum ETFs, however, are showing stronger flows, with $95.44 million in one-day inflows and $221.91 million over seven days.
The mining industry is also undergoing significant changes, with at least 35 EH/s slated to leave listed miners by the end of the year. This migration towards AI could potentially undermine any potential BTC recovery.
