Whale Trades 866 BTC for 26,924 ETH in $65.42 Million Transaction
A large Bitcoin (BTC) holder, often referred to as a whale in cryptocurrency circles, made a significant trade 12 hours ago. The whale sold 866.1 BTC worth $65.42 million and used those funds to purchase 26,924 Ether (ETH) at the price of $2,430.
The transaction is notable because it shows another large Bitcoin holder rotating out of BTC into ETH. This type of trade can have significant implications for the market as a whole, particularly if other whales follow suit.
The current market conditions suggest that this whale's move might be part of a larger trend. The price of Ether currently sits at $2,406.48 inside its Bollinger band with upper resistance at $2,569.95. However, the 50-EMA at $2,481.44 is capping upside, and the 200-EMA at $2,325.86 offers deeper support.
The technical analysis also suggests a bearish structure due to the MACD death cross at -20.46. Nevertheless, the RSI at 34.53 leaves room before oversold territory, indicating that any bounce towards the upper band might stall and retrace to the 50-EMA before continuation.
