Whales Flood Binance with $30.5 Billion in Stablecoins
The total amount of stablecoins sent to Binance by whales has exceeded $30.5 billion over the past 30 days, a 40% increase from the previous month. According to CryptoQuant's analysis, this rise in stablecoin inflows from large investors suggests they may be preparing for new Bitcoin purchases.
Stablecoins serve as liquidity for investors to buy cryptocurrencies, and rising transfers to an exchange can signal that large investors are planning to take positions again. However, the $30.5 billion figure represents total stablecoin transfers to Binance over 30 days, not completed Bitcoin purchases.
The analysis highlights that while transfers by large investors have increased, they remain at about half the peak of $61 billion seen in October. This cautious approach by whales may be due to conflicting expectations about Bitcoin's performance, with some anticipating a rise in price and others worried about inflation and rising bond yields.
