Whales Load Up on XRP, Rallying Price by 8% Amid Regulatory Setback
XRP has experienced an unexpected rally after large whales accumulated over $2 billion in token value. According to on-chain data from Santiment, these whales collectively added roughly 1.54 billion XRP tokens over a 96-hour window ending September 19, 2026, worth approximately $2.2 billion at mid-September prices.
The buying spree coincided with an 8.22% price recovery, lifting XRP from lows near $1.24 back above $1.40, with intraday highs touching the $1.45 to $1.48 range. This recovery tracked a technical chart pattern analysts call an inverse head-and-shoulders formation.
During the recovery phase, daily trading volumes fluctuated between $2.6 billion and $3.4 billion. The large wallet cohort tracked by Santiment went from holding approximately 8.27 billion XRP to roughly 9.81 billion in those four days.
