White House Crypto Summit: Industry Leaders Unite Behind Pro-Innovation Stance

Share

Ripple's CEO Brad Garlinghouse was among the notable figures at today's White House crypto summit, where administration officials and top financial regulators emphasized their pro-innovation stance.

The event saw industry leaders come together to discuss the future of cryptocurrency in the United States. Commodity Futures Trading Commission Chair Michael Selig echoed the administration's message, stating that 'the era of political lawfare, debanking, and regulation by enforcement is over.' He added that innovators like those in attendance are welcomed at the White House.

Selig also highlighted the progress made under the current administration, saying 'we've exiled Gary Gensler, defeated the anti-crypto army, and made the United States the crypto capital of the world.'

The Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) proposed rule on crypto assets was also discussed. SEC Chair Paul Atkins stated that it would provide certainty for entrepreneurs to raise capital in the US using digital assets.
