White House Vows to Keep Pushing for Crypto Clarity Despite Legislative Setback
The White House's push for regulatory clarity on digital assets has hit a snag after the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act stalled in the Senate.
Patrick Witt, the administration's top crypto adviser, acknowledged the setback but emphasized that the administration plans to continue pushing for clarity, whether or not Congress delivers a legislative fix.
In a recent speech at Georgetown University, Witt said, 'The future for digital assets is bright.' He noted that the administration was 'disappointed by the failure of Clarity to advance at this time,' but added that 'perhaps there's an opportunity in the future.'
The bill's failure was due to ethics concerns tied to President Trump's crypto holdings and business interests, not market structure policy itself. Witt defended the administration's approach, arguing that Democrats turned the process into a political fight rather than a policy debate.
