Why Solana Wallets Are Showing Lower BALANCES Than Expected
Users of Solana wallets have been reporting discrepancies between their expected and actual SOL balances. The issue is often caused by transaction fees, which are deducted from the sender's account, or transfers made earlier that haven't yet updated on the wallet.
According to Solana documentation, transaction fees can add up quickly, especially for frequent users. For example, a simple transfer of 1 SOL could incur a fee of 0.002 SOL, leaving the expected remaining balance at 0.998 SOL.
Another common cause of lower-than-expected balances is the creation of token accounts. When users receive tokens, Solana creates a new account to hold them, which requires funding with SOL. This can temporarily reduce the user's available SOL balance.
