Why Your Ethereum Transaction Failed (and How to Fix It)
An Ethereum transaction failed message can be frustrating, especially when it happens at the worst possible moment. According to Ethereum's own developer documentation, a transaction is a cryptographically signed instruction coming from an account, containing a sender address, receiving address, signature, nonce, value being transferred, optional data, and gas settings.
When any one of these pieces is off, that's usually where the problem begins. One common reason for Ethereum transaction failures is gas limits - gas is basically the fee paid for computational work. A simple ETH transfer needs 21,000 units of gas, but anything more complex requires more, and the exact amount isn't always predictable in advance.
Another frequent issue is the nonce problem - the nonce is a sequentially increasing number tracking how many transactions an account has sent. If a transaction is submitted with a nonce that's out of order or a previous transaction with a lower nonce is still pending, it can get stuck or rejected entirely.
