William Quigley: Crypto Pioneer & Co-Founder of Tether
William Quigley is a seasoned venture capitalist and cryptocurrency entrepreneur who has made significant contributions to the industry. With a Master's degree from Harvard Business School, he began his career in traditional venture capital at Idealab, where he led internet incubation efforts and helped launch Idealab Capital Partners.
Quigley co-founded Clearstone Venture Partners, an early-stage firm valued at roughly $700 million, which focused on communications and consumer technology investments. He made early investments in notable companies such as PayPal, NetZero, MP3.com, and GoTo.com.
In 2013, Quigley co-founded Crypto Currency Partners, a dedicated cryptocurrency investment fund with portfolio investments including Coinbase, Kraken, Bitfury, Authy, ChangeTip, and Circle. The following year, he co-founded Tether, now widely described as the first fiat-backed stablecoin.
Quigley's experience spans early internet investing, traditional venture capital, and more than a decade in crypto. He currently serves as CEO of WAX, a blockchain platform built for NFTs and virtual items in video games.
