Willy Woo Says 8 Percent of Countries Have Bitcoin Purchase Policies
Bitcoin analyst Willy Woo has estimated that around 8% of countries have policies in place to purchase or hold Bitcoin (BTC). This figure includes nations that have officially adopted policies supporting the acquisition or retention of the cryptocurrency. Additionally, Woo noted that approximately 12% of countries actually hold Bitcoin, distinguishing between those with policies and those actively holding the asset.
Woo also provided insights into global Bitcoin ownership, estimating that about 5% of the world’s population owns Bitcoin. This statistic highlights the growing, albeit still niche, adoption of cryptocurrency among individuals worldwide.
The distinction between countries with holding policies and those that currently hold Bitcoin underscores the varying degrees of engagement with the digital asset. While some nations are taking steps to integrate Bitcoin into their financial strategies, others may be more cautious or still in the exploratory phase.
