Wintermute USA Secures Broker-Dealer Registration, Eyes US Securities Markets
Wintermute USA has secured broker-dealer registration from the SEC and FINRA, clearing the way for its entry into US securities markets.
The New York-based subsidiary plans to focus on trading commodities and digital asset exchange-traded funds (ETFs), with potential expansion into tokenized stocks if regulatory approvals are granted.
As a registered broker-dealer, Wintermute USA can provide liquidity to US securities exchanges and over-the-counter markets, as well as trade stocks and options for its own account and serve as an Authorized Participant for certain exchange-traded products.
According to CEO Evgeny Gaevoy, 'digital assets and traditional finance will continue to develop in parallel, intersect in new ways, and ultimately integrate more deeply.'
The company has set a three-to-five-year target to compete with major market makers such as Jane Street, Jump Trading, and Citadel Securities.
