Witkoff's Crypto Windfall: Special Envoy Earns Nearly $107M from Trump-Affiliated Venture
Financial disclosures have revealed that Steve Witkoff earned nearly $107 million last year from World Liberty Financial, a cryptocurrency firm he co-founded with President Donald Trump and members of their respective families.
The company is operated by Witkoff's son, Zach Witkoff, and Trump's three sons. Critics say the private enterprise presents an appearance of conflict of interest due to its connections to the White House.
World Liberty Financial recently secured preliminary approval from the Trump administration to operate as a bank. In May 2025, the company stated that Witkoff was in the process of divesting himself from the firm and had no operational role or financial interest in WLFI deals.
The news comes after it was revealed that President Trump earned $526 million from the sale of cryptocurrency tokens through World Liberty Financial. He also received an additional $65 million from sales of equity in WLF's holding company.
