WLFI Launches USD1 Stablecoin on Canton Network
World Liberty Financial (WLFI) has launched its USD1 stablecoin on the Canton Network, marking a significant update in institutional crypto adoption. The move was confirmed through an official Business Wire release and announced on X by both WLFI and Canton Network.
The native issue of USD1 on Canton Network allows institutions to exchange dollars and tokenized assets in one synchronized transaction, settling atomically alongside each other. This development gives banks and asset managers a dollar leg for collateral, lending, redemptions, and cross-border payments, all under the network's built-in privacy and compliance controls.
The launch of USD1 on Canton Network supports institutional workflows across institutions, including collateral for derivatives and lending, round-the-clock cross-border payments, funding, issuance, and redemption of tokenized assets. The stablecoin is backed by US Treasury, dollar deposits, and money market funds, with reserve reports published regularly.
WLFI's Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer Zak Folkman stated that institutions have already put trillions of dollars in Treasurys and government debt on-chain, but the dollar leg of settlement has relied on older infrastructure. With USD1 natively issued on Canton Network, real-world assets now have a dollar that settles alongside them with speed and privacy.
