Woman Faces Prison for Hiding Millions from IRS After Crypto Fraud Scheme

A woman who dated 'The Godfather' of cryptocurrency fraud is facing prison time after hiding $2.6m from the IRS.

Iris Ramaya Au, 36, pleaded guilty in March to filing a false tax return and will be sentenced on Monday for her role in her ex-boyfriend Adam Iza's crimes.

According to court documents, Iza generated millions of dollars through a scheme involving Facebook and Meta accounts, and used the funds to pay corrupt law enforcement officials, purchase luxury items, and invest in cryptocurrency.

Au acknowledged that she moved $2.6m from entity bank accounts into her personal accounts between 2020 and 2023, failing to declare the income on her federal tax returns.
