Wood Reaffirms $1.5M Bitcoin Price Target, Citing Institutional Adoption and AI
Cathie Wood, CEO of Ark Invest, has reaffirmed her bold prediction that Bitcoin will reach a price of $1.5 million by the end of 2030. This would represent a staggering 1,665% increase from its current price of $85,000, according to Wood.
Wood cites institutional adoption and the growing number of use cases for Bitcoin as key catalysts for its potential surge. One of the most compelling use cases, she argues, is Bitcoin's ability to act as a global store of value, providing a hedge against macroeconomic weakness.
Another potential catalyst Wood highlights is artificial intelligence (AI), which could use Bitcoin for online transactions due to its divisibility into 100 million satoshis. However, she acknowledges that institutional adoption is not without its challenges, and the recent failure of the Senate to pass the Clarity Act has dampened prospects for other Bitcoin-related legislation.
Wood's prediction may seem ambitious, but she has a track record of being correct on Bitcoin's upside potential. Nevertheless, she also notes that Bitcoin will need to double in value every year for the remainder of this decade to reach her target price.
