Wood Sees Bitcoin Price Soaring to $710K by 2030
Cathie Wood, founder of ARK Invest, has made some eye-catching predictions for Bitcoin's future price. According to her company's Big Ideas report, the base-case price for Bitcoin by 2030 is $710,000 to $800,000, with a bull-case ceiling of $2.4 million. This represents a potential gain of around 1,665% from its current price.
Wood argues that Bitcoin's market cap will climb to approximately $16 trillion by 2030, within a total crypto market cap of around $28 trillion. The math behind this projection is based on the fact that Bitcoin's supply is expected to sit near 20.5 million coins by then.
One factor in Wood's confidence is the growing adoption of spot Bitcoin ETFs, which have drawn billions in inflows since their launch in early 2024. She also points to corporate treasury allocation, where firms are converting cash reserves into Bitcoin.
However, Wood has acknowledged a caveat: if dollar-pegged digital assets continue to grow as a payments and savings layer, they could absorb demand that would otherwise flow to Bitcoin, potentially compressing price outcomes.
