Wood Sees Bitcoin Soaring to $1.25M in Next Five Years
Cathie Wood, founder and CEO of Ark Invest, is optimistic about cryptocurrencies. Her firm's flagship ETFs, including ARKK, ARKW, and ARKF, hold shares of crypto-related stocks like Coinbase and Robinhood.
The ARKB ETF gives investors direct exposure to Bitcoin (BTC), which currently trades at around $79,000. Wood predicts that Bitcoin could surge nearly 1,480% to $1.25 million within the next five years, increasing its market cap from $1.6 trillion to $25.1 trillion.
This potential growth is attributed to several factors: Bitcoin's scarcity, similar to gold and silver; its ease of transfer and storage compared to traditional commodities; and its potential use as a safe-haven asset in emerging markets struggling with hyperinflation.
However, some investors may be skeptical about Wood's prediction. They point out that many investors still favor gold over Bitcoin as a safe-haven asset, and that stablecoins could reduce the usefulness of cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin.
