World Chain Unveils Mainnet Upgrade with Streamed Block-Level Access Lists

World Chain is set to launch its mainnet upgrade with EIP-7928 on August 17, 2026. This upgrade will make World Chain the first production Layer-2 network to implement streamed Block-Level Access Lists (BALs).

EIP-7928 is a proposal that introduces BALs, which are structured records of every account and storage slot touched during block execution.

This innovation removes the bottleneck in validators re-executing transactions one at a time. With BALs, state changes are explicit in advance, allowing multiple processor cores to verify transactions simultaneously.

The upgrade is expected to significantly boost throughput without increasing costs for independent validators.
