World Launches Standalone Platform to 1M Users with Over 150k Prediction Markets
The prediction market platform World has launched its standalone website to over 1 million users from its waitlist. This expansion comes after the protocol had previously operated within the Phantom wallet since July 2026.
The platform now has a catalog of more than 150,000 markets across various topics such as sports, politics, crypto, economy, and culture. These markets cover high-profile events like NFL regular-season games, seven professional soccer leagues, Formula 1, and the US midterm elections scheduled for 2026.
Each contract trades under a binary scheme with 'yes' or 'no' options valued between $0 and $1. Prices reflect the estimated probability of participants, settling at $1 for the winning outcome and $0 for the discarded option.
World operates on a non-custodial technical architecture, meaning it doesn't hold operator-deposited funds. Users pay standard Solana network fees when opening or closing positions, with orders routed directly to decentralized liquidity providers within the ecosystem.
