Worldcoin Surges 15% as Sam Altman's World Unleashes Global Financial App
Worldcoin (WLD) price surged over 15% on September 18 as Sam Altman's World launched its self-custodial financial app, World Money, across more than 150 countries. The token reached an intraday high of $0.434, up from around $0.384 on September 17.
World Money combines stablecoins, payments, trading, and earning in one platform, supporting stablecoin balances in eight currencies. The app also includes portfolio tracking, transaction history, and price alerts, with integration features like Stripe, Morpho, Kalshi, and Bridge.
The token's rise extends a short-term recovery for WLD, which has risen from around $0.363 on September 15 to about $0.40, although it remains below its levels earlier in the month, where it was traded near $0.50. Daily trading volume increased during the latest move, with over $303.61 million recorded in September 18 trading data.
