Wyoming Shifts Stable Token to Chainlink Over Security Concerns
Wyoming's Frontier Stable Token (FRNT) has been fully migrated from LayerZero to Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP), following a security review process. The move is part of a multiyear contract signed by Wyoming officials, making CCIP the exclusive cross-chain infrastructure for FRNT.
The migration was prompted by concerns about LayerZero's disclosure practices and operational security, which were identified during the state-led security review. Chainlink's CCIP was deemed to meet the commission's security and reliability requirements, with its built-in risk controls and redundant validation features.
FRNT is available on eight public blockchains, including Ethereum, Solana, Base, and Avalanche networks. The token remains a relatively small asset, with a capitalization below $1 million. However, the migration is significant given Wyoming's status as a pioneer in issuing stable tokens through public-private partnerships.
