X Brings Trading Directly into the Feed
Elon Musk's X platform has made it easier for American users to trade Bitcoin and stocks. By clicking on cashtags like $BTC or $TSLA, users can view market charts and access trading services through partner platforms such as Interactive Brokers, Moomoo, Gemini, Kraken, and Coinbase.
The feature allows users to quickly transition from discussing tickers in the feed to viewing real-time charts and making trades. X itself does not execute trades, but redirects users to external platforms where they can log in or register to place orders.
Mridul Singhai, head of product engineering at X, said that cashtags 'shorten the distance between the ticker in the feed and the market itself.'
The new feature is part of Elon Musk's strategy to develop X as a broader financial platform. With millions of users worldwide, X has long been a major public platform for the crypto community.
