X, the social media platform led by Elon Musk, is exploring the use of stablecoins for creator payouts. According to sources, X is discussing using Circle's USDC among other options to pay content royalties to influential users.

The move follows a growing trend in Musk's companies embracing stablecoins. SpaceX already uses stablecoins for cross-border payments from Starlink satellite internet customers in emerging markets.

The stablecoin market has surpassed $300 billion in total market capitalization, making it a faster and cheaper means of transactions. If X adopts stablecoins, creators worldwide can be paid quickly using a single digital payment method, regardless of national banking networks or fiat currencies.
