X Expands Cashtag Trading Links to Top Exchanges and Brokerages
X has expanded its Cashtag Partner Program in the US, allowing users to move directly from stock and crypto discussions on the platform to participating exchanges and brokerages. The initial partners include Coinbase, Gemini, and Kraken for crypto, alongside Interactive Brokers and Moomoo for traditional markets.
When users open a supported Cashtag, they can view price data, charts, and related posts before selecting a Trade option that redirects them to a participating platform. X itself does not execute trades or hold customer assets, as orders are completed through the connected exchange or brokerage.
The feature covers cryptocurrencies, stocks, and exchange-traded funds (ETFs), depending on which assets each partner supports, shortening the path between discovering an asset on social media and reaching a platform where a trade can be placed. Users still need to meet each exchange's normal requirements, which can include opening an account, completing identity verification, funding the account, and satisfying regional eligibility rules.
