X Integrates Brokerages to Facilitate Crypto Trades Directly Within App
X, the social media platform, has launched a new feature that allows users to buy and sell cryptocurrencies directly from within the app. The 'Trade' button is now available on cashtags for partner brokerages Coinbase, Kraken, Gemini, Interactive Brokers, and Moomoo.
The new feature connects supported stock, ETF, and cryptocurrency pages to these partner brokerages, allowing users to complete transactions directly at the brokerage's app or website. This means that X does not execute any trades itself, but rather provides a pathway for users to connect with their preferred brokerage.
Gemini has confirmed that its connection with X covers stocks and five named cryptocurrencies: ZEC, HYPE, BTC, ETH, and SOL. Kraken, on the other hand, allows U.S. users to tap 'any crypto cashtag' to go directly to Kraken, promoting access to over 2,400 tokens.
