X Introduces 'Trade' Button for Bitcoin and Other Cryptocurrencies

Elon Musk's social media platform X has introduced a new feature allowing US users to follow Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency cashtags directly to trading platforms. The 'Trade' button on supported pages, including Bitcoin's BTC ticker, sends users to partner sites like Coinbase, Kraken, or Gemini to complete transactions.

However, critics have dismissed the feature as a 'glorified banner ad' for promoting partner exchanges rather than providing a seamless trading experience within X itself. The rollout has been limited to US users and only covers stocks, ETFs, and cryptocurrencies.

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong remains optimistic about Bitcoin's future, predicting it could reach $400,000 by 2030 based on historical four-year cycles and the upcoming Bitcoin halving in 2028.
