X Launches Cashtag Trading Feature, Connecting US Users Directly to Brokerages

X has launched its Cashtag Partner Program in the US, allowing users to trade directly through participating brokerages from within the social media app.

The program connects users with five brokerage partners: Coinbase, Gemini, Kraken, Interactive Brokers, and Moomoo. It builds on smart cashtags introduced earlier this year for iPhone users in the United States and Canada, which added live charts and asset data.

Users can tap a supported cashtag to see financial data tied to that asset, with a new 'Trade' button appearing letting them pick a brokerage and move directly to complete a transaction. The partner program does not execute trades itself; all transactions happen on the partner's platform.
