X Launches Cashtag Trading Program for Stocks and Cryptocurrencies

Elon Musk's social media platform X has launched a new feature called Cashtag Trading Program, which allows users to trade stocks and cryptocurrencies directly from their conversations. The program is in partnership with brokerages such as Coinbase, Kraken, and Gemini.

The feature positions Cashtags as a bridge between discovering an asset on X and acting on that information through a brokerage. Users can view the asset's price information and conversation on X before selecting 'Trade' to continue to a participating brokerage.

'Cashtags close the gap between a ticker on the timeline and the market itself,' said Mridul Singhai, Product Engineering Lead at X.
