X Launches Cashtag Trading Programme with Major Partners

X has launched its Cashtag Partner Program in the US, allowing users to trade cryptocurrencies and stocks directly from X pages.

The program currently includes five major partners: Coinbase, Gemini, Kraken, Interactive Brokers, and Moomoo. When a user clicks on a supported Cashtag, they will see real-time price data and active conversations about the asset, along with a list of participating trading platforms and a 'Trade' button.

X does not execute trades itself; instead, it connects users directly to the chosen platform, where they can sign in or set up an account and place a trade. Interactive Brokers offers a USD 100 credit for US customers who meet certain terms, while Kraken provides access to over 2,500 assets through its exchange and decentralized services.

The program is currently only available to US users, but there are hints that it may expand outside the US in the future. Mridul Singhai, X's product engineering lead, says the goal of the program is to make it easier for users to go from spotting a ticker on X to actually trading it.
