X Launches Cashtag Trading with Major Brokerage Partners
X has launched its Cashtag Partner Program, which connects users directly to trading partners in the United States. The program includes five major brokerage partners: Coinbase, Kraken, and Gemini for cryptocurrency traders, and Interactive Brokers and Moomoo for traditional stocks and ETFs.
The program builds on X's existing smart cashtags feature, which displays live market data and related discussions. With the Cashtag Partner Program, users can tap a dollar-prefixed ticker to access price data and related posts, and then route themselves to their chosen partner platform to trade.
X does not execute trades itself; all transactions occur on partner platforms outside of X's infrastructure. Users log into their brokerage accounts through the partner apps or websites. The program aims to close the gap between market discussion and market action, capturing users' intent and directing them to competing brokers.
