X Launches Cashtag Trading with Major Crypto Exchanges
X has launched Cashtag trading in partnership with Coinbase, Kraken, and Gemini. The feature allows users to route orders directly from an asset's ticker page to a participating partner's platform. This move marks X's most direct step toward in-app investing.
The rollout is the result of over a year of teasing trading tools without committing to a full rollout. The 'Trade' button on supported Cashtags sends users to a partner to complete the order, with trades executed inside the partner's mobile app or web platform.
X's launch lineup is weighted toward digital assets, with Interactive Brokers and Moomoo also participating in the program. The pilot behind the program generated roughly $1 billion in global trading volume within its first three days.
