X Prepares to Introduce Cryptocurrency Buy/Sell Buttons

X is taking another step into the cryptocurrency and finance world by allowing users to buy and sell cryptocurrencies directly on its platform. Nikita Bier, an advisor at X, made this announcement in response to a user's claim that X had restricted their crypto account visibility.

Bier explained that he developed the Cashtags feature himself, which allows Solana (SOL) and Ethereum (ETH) price charts to be directly added to posts. He stated that a buy/sell button will soon be added, allowing users to trade these assets on X.

This move is not new for X; it launched its Smart Cashtags feature in April 2026, initially rolling it out to iPhone users in the US and Canada. The feature allows users to view real-time price information and charts for stocks and cryptocurrencies within posts.
