X Sues Bitcoin Influencers Over Alleged Engagement Manipulation
Social media platform X has filed a lawsuit against Bitcoin influencers, alleging they manipulated engagement metrics to improperly obtain creator payouts.
X alleges that the defendants systematically operated multiple accounts on the platform, posting identical or substantially similar content and artificially inflating engagement metrics by liking and reposting one another's posts.
The company claims that the defendants bypassed its enforcement measures and improperly obtained at least £207,384 through the Creator Revenue Sharing Program.
X has suspended the accounts of the defendants and is seeking repayment of the distributed revenue, damages, interest, and legal costs. The company estimates that the cost of investigating and analyzing the related accounts will total at least £75,000.
