X Sues Crypto Influencers Over Alleged $277K Creator Payment Scam
X Corp., the parent company of social media platform X, has filed a lawsuit against cryptocurrency influencers Vivek Kumar Sen and Zamyang Sherpa in the UK High Court.
The lawsuit alleges that Sen and Sherpa used a network of bitcoin-focused accounts to post identical content, boost each other's metrics, and manipulate user interaction data.
X claims that the defendants generated payouts totaling at least $277,568 by posting near-identical posts within seconds of each other and using coordinated replies and likes to trigger algorithmic creator rewards.
The social media platform alleges that payment records, overlapping Stripe accounts, device tokens, and shared IP addresses linked the profiles together, indicating a single entity operating multiple accounts.
