X Sues Network of Bitcoin Accounts Over £207K Creator Payout Scheme
X Corp has filed a lawsuit against two individuals and an unknown number of operators for allegedly running a network of Bitcoin-focused accounts that manufactured engagement to collect £207,384 in creator payouts.
The complaint, which was published on X's transparency site, alleges that six monetized Bitcoin accounts posted near-duplicate content and traded engagement with one another, while three further handles boosted the network with coordinated likes and reposts.
X suspended the accounts on 18 August for what it called coordinated revenue-sharing fraud and platform manipulation. The company is seeking losses of at least £207,384, plus investigation costs of up to £75,000, as well as interest.
