X Unveils Cashtag Trading Feature with Five Major Partners

X has launched its 'Cashtag Partner Program' in the U.S., allowing users to directly trade stocks, ETFs, and crypto assets through partner services. The program enables users to view price charts and related posts on X's timeline for supported cashtags, then proceed to a trading entry point.

The five launch partners are Coinbase (crypto), Kraken (crypto), Gemini (crypto), Interactive Brokers (stocks & ETFs), and Moomoo (stocks & ETFs). Cashtag Partner Program users can access these partner services directly from the X timeline, eliminating the need to leave the platform or create multiple accounts.

The program currently only allows U.S. investors to participate due to varying identity verification requirements and available tickers across partner firms. This announcement positions X's 'super app' concept as taking shape, further blurring the lines between social media and finance.
