x402 Protocol Drives 1.43M Agentic Transactions on XRP Ledger

Ripple's x402 protocol has achieved significant milestones in its adoption on the XRP Ledger. As of July 22, 2026, the protocol has driven over 1.43 million agentic transactions and $4,463 in merchant settlements through machine-to-machine payment channels.

This represents a 127% increase since x402 was embedded in the ledger on June 9. The XRP Ledger recorded an all-time high of 8.45 million active addresses, with 129 merchants settling funds via the protocol.

Ripple's vice president, Fiona Murray, noted that monthly transaction volume on the XRP Ledger has increased twelvefold since the RLUSD launch.

However, despite these developments, XRP was excluded from the S&P Pantera Digital Asset Index without explanation. The index aims to reward demonstrable economic activity rather than just price momentum.
